Mental Health and Substance Abuse

The Center has recently completed a review of Children's Mental Health prevalence, workforce capacity, and service use as part of the Endowment for Health's new theme kick-off.

As with our work on Children's mental health, these reports describe the prevalence of and service use for mental illnesses among adults in NH.

Funded by the Endowment for Health, the Center has published a series of paper describing, the prevalence of mental illnesses in New Hampshire's children, the use of medical services for mental health, the current workforce capacity for mental health services, and the state of evidenced-based practices across the state.

• Payment for Alcohol and Other Drug Related Services by New Hampshire’s Medicaid Program (06-01-2010)

  This work was commissioned by New Futures to explore the available data of alcohol and other drug related services paid for through the state’s Medicaid program. This report establishes a baseline of information so that policymakers and other stakeholders can understand the scope of services accessed by the Medicaid population with AOD issues. This understanding can help policymakers and advocates develop cost-effective strategies for services to treat these chronic and life-threatening conditions.
